Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasely)

Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood)

Emma Watson (Hermione Granger...holy crap, this girl's likeness is hard to get!!)

Jessie Cave (Lavender Brown)

Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange)

I drew a whole bunch more Bonnies too. I'm not sure I really got her look down, but I like these anyhow. It took a while for me to warm up to her in the role of Ginny, but I think she's really interesting now. She definitely has a pretty and unconventional look that is hard (but fun) to draw.

Check out how pretty it was in North Carolina...this was taken from the car, as the sun was setting and all the light was shining on the leaves. So nice!

See ya later...

P.S. Expect more HP crap once the DVD is out! Sorry for non-nerd readers out there! >__<;

these are fantastic! xoxo
These are all great, Katie, and i think you got Hermoine just right.
Oooh, vera nice :P
The one of Bellatrix (the second one) looks like Calypso from the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies.
Oh, I have a question and even as I'm thinking about it, it sounds...really stupid: When you're drawing with markers, how do you keep them from being streaky because I noticed the way you draw, the color is so smooth and evenly distributed and I'm "*GASP* Sorcery!"
So...is there like a trick or I should just not hesitate and leave those hesitation streaks?
Thanks Ricky and Stef! :D
Amanda, I almost always use chartpak markers to color. They barely streak, but the bleed REAL bad, so you gotta be careful. They're also super stinky.
Trias and Prismacolors are pretty good about not streaking, but you have to color sort of quickly in order to not get streaks. The longer you leave the color down, the more it dries, so if you need to color a large space, sometimes it's good to go back and forth between filling in the empty space and going over the areas you've already colored.
It's not a stupid question at all! It takes practice to get used to any art tool and make it work. Marlo is the best artist I know when it comes to making marker look like paint. She never gets streaks!
wonderful caricatures!! So cute and so much personality! And great likenesses too.
KATIE! I feel so spoiled looking at these! They are total eye candy! Love 'em...and love having you back! See ya tomorrow!
Katie, Your Luna looks like she just smoked too much weed! It's Awesome!
The second Hermione Granger is PERFECT!!! She always has that crooked smirk!
Looking forward to more HP things.
My dad's going to North Carolina for work soon :>
I AM THRILLED FOR THIS NEWS..more harry potter anyway. I didnt get to see the latest movie but i. basically got it illustrated to me. But yeah. It'd be neat to see you do some of the boys, though your girls are fantastic. Gennie was..sorta..in the background for me. Never paid attention to her. but i was like that for the girls who werent luna..
Awesome post as per usual, hope that vacation was a good'un.
Fab caricatures as usual, love that someone else out there likes Bonnie's look, those are some real cute sketches of her! And I agree the Emma Watson is spot on.
Love all of these! Luna is PERFECTTTT!!
I don't know shit about Harry Potter or anything but that looks just like Helena Bonham Carter. Wow. Super duper.
Did you use markers for these?
Ah, it figures the best ones are ones I don't have. (I have Artwins)
BTW, are you going to reply to my email? :P
Hi Katie!
I really like these series they got so much character and personality! They are alive!
I'm really impressed with the pictures
congratulations: )
Great post, Love the drawings!!
Noice! Hey, are you making a conscious effort to start drawing smaller eyes now?
You've managed to start drawing eyes smaller, yet they're still cute. I don't know how you do it, but it's funny you drew Hermoine.
I tried drawing her last year and, in an attempt to 'cutify' the drawing, I drew her with big eyes only to realize she doesn't have them. She's not Winona Ryder.
But she's cute as a button, as is her post-it!

PS: Marlo is a marker ninja!
:D.....I'm speechless and you got Emma Watson down pat! I also love Helena's caricature especially. Helena must've been really fun for you.
Thanks everyone! :D
Brie- I've drawn the guys before, I'm just not brave enough to post them cause they're crappy. :)
Zach- Yup, these are marker. I try to limit myself to whatever stuff is laying around on my desk to color these.
Amanda- I've never used artwins! I gotta look those up. And I didn't know I had an email from you! Sorry, I will look for it in my inbox.
Trevor- Hmm, I don't think it's a conscious effort, no...I think when I draw someone made up I tend to do bigger eyes, but when drawing from reference I just go off whatever kinds of eyes the person has. Emma Watson is definitely adorable. Are you gonna post your drawing of her? I think she actually does have kind of big eyes, but they're always sort of squinted up, making them look long horizontal-wise.
Sean- Yeah, Helena was fun to draw. Kind of hard, though. Her look is so specific. :)
Katie,
I TRIED to draw her... unsuccessfully. Maybe I'll try again!

hello! Ha, I'm not sure what you mean when you say you can't draw a stylized car ... I 100% doubt that! You are so talented it's unbelievable!! Your blog is so inspiring.
Beautiful style you have!! I can't wait to see more! :)
Keep drawing! :)
The Helena Bonham Carter drawings are spot-on!
I'm starting to hate the word 'stylized'. Especially when non-artists use it.
:O) great!!!!
Holy crap these are good. You sure are talented.
Those are just too awesome
All those post-its you have so far, they'd make an awesome art show
like a whole gallery of just a bunch of post-its
